My personal favorite design is the “model off duty” slouchy tee (bottom left in the pictures). Wear it with a pair of jeans, a cute jacket and a messy bun and you’ve got your coveted model off duty look!

In other news, I’ve tried the 28 Day Reset by Blogilates. I gave up this week because ice cream was too hard to refuse but honestly, guys TRY IT! My skin looks way better and I’ve lost 4 pounds and it’s not even the full 28 days! One day I will have the commitment to stick with it the whole way through but for now, I’m impressed with the results I got from  completing only ¾ of the challenge! AND for the record, after having been off gluten and dairy for so long then going back to them, I found that I am WAY too bloated to fit into some of my clothes. I probably won’t stop eating pasta any time soon but it’s something to consider!

That’s all for now!

Take care!

Roughly 150-175 calories per serving

simple but delicious trail mix-2.png

TIP: buy nuts and seeds in bulk to keep down the cost. trail mix is a staple in my diet because of all the benefits, both beauty and health, that it has so buying in bulk saves me money.

Well, thats all for today. I hope you like the recipe as much as I do. It’s a perfect take-along snack for work or school.

Stay active, stay healthy, stay smart!

Benefits of Healthy Eating

benefits-of-healthy-eating

Hey bombshell!

Anyone looking to lose weight already knows that clean eating is the best way to go about it. Add in a little exercise and motivation and thats a recipe for weight loss success!

But there’s more to clean eating than the fit body! This post is a reminder of all the reasons to eat clean after the holiday season.

Immune System
Why is it when you start sneezing people say “drink your orange juice?” Vitamin C, of course! No body wants to be sick so make sure you fill up on vitamin C rich foods in 2017. That includes the obvious like oranges and other fruits but did you know that bell peppers are one of the best sources of vitamin C?

Focus and Energy
Though this applies to everyone, I especially want students to listen up! Students in college and university have a hard enough time keeping up with the school work, but due to rising tuition costs, many students have to work full-time while in school to pay for various costs. And don’t forget about maintaining a healthy lifestyle during all that! This requires focus and energy. Pair a banana with a protein (my fav is egg whites) in the morning and you’ll be good to go all day long!

Healthy Skin
I’m only going to say this once: sugar = bad skin!! Now I’m not going to lie, I have a weird obsession with cinnamon rolls. I LOVE them! They always seem to sneak into my kitchen and of course they don’t last long once they’re there. I try to avoid sugary foods but hey, I’m human. If there’s one rule I live by its everything in moderation…except coffee. Berries are known to be good for skin so mix them up in a smoothie with some almond milk and a bit of protein powder and you have yourself a recipe for clear skin!

Additional benefits of healthy eating include:

  • decreased stress levels
  • improved sleep quality
  • lower risk of disease
  • and MANY more

I understand that clean eating isn’t an overnight transition. Sugar addiction is a REAL THING! I suggest starting slowly on your path to clean eating or you risk binge eating and fall-backs. Make slow changes like increasing water intake then once you’re used to that start introducing more vegetables into recipes you already make! These are just examples, of course. Do what suits you!

Well thats all for now!
