It’s Finally Here!! + 28 Day Reset Update

Hey Bombshell!

It’s finally here! What’s here, you ask? The launch of BOMBSHELL APPAREL!

Currently we offer two designs that let the world know that THIS girl is a BOMBSHELL! This is a very exciting time so we’re giving you 10% off that you get instantly when you use promo code INSTA10 (only available until February 14th)

My personal favorite design is the “model off duty” slouchy tee (bottom left in the pictures). Wear it with a pair of jeans, a cute jacket and a messy bun and you’ve got your coveted model off duty look!

In other news, I’ve tried the 28 Day Reset by Blogilates. I gave up this week because ice cream was too hard to refuse but honestly, guys TRY IT! My skin looks way better and I’ve lost 4 pounds and it’s not even the full 28 days! One day I will have the commitment to stick with it the whole way through but for now, I’m impressed with the results I got from  completing only ¾ of the challenge! AND for the record, after having been off gluten and dairy for so long then going back to them, I found that I am WAY too bloated to fit into some of my clothes. I probably won’t stop eating pasta any time soon but it’s something to consider!

That’s all for now!

Take care!

Super Healthy, Super Easy Trail Mix Recipe

Hey Bombshell!

Don’t you dare think about giving up on your new year’s resolutions! This trail mix recipe will keep you right on track. It’s sweet and nutty and so amazing for your skin, your body, you mind and more!

Here’s a recipe I use all the time!

Roughly 150-175 calories per serving

simple but delicious trail mix-2.png

TIP: buy nuts and seeds in bulk to keep down the cost. trail mix is a staple in my diet because of all the benefits, both beauty and health, that it has so buying in bulk saves me money.

Well, thats all for today. I hope you like the recipe as much as I do. It’s a perfect take-along snack for work or school.

Stay active, stay healthy, stay smart!

New Year, New Challenge

Hey Bombshell!

This post is about experimentation (not the kind you do in college)! As a biotechnology student, science is clearly something I’m interested in or I wouldn’t spend hours every week pouring over textbooks. This post is about experimenting with nutrition to gain insight into your own limits and strengths.

For those of you who haven’t heard of her, Cassey Ho is an internet-born celebrity personal trainer/health coach and creator of Blogilates, Popflex clothing line, PopPilates, and more. She recently made her 28-day Reset available to the public for FREE!  Her workouts have given me the booty I’ve always dreamed of and always help me de-stress after a long day at school. I honestly can’t write enough about her, seriously check her out, you won’t be sorry!

ANYWAYS! Enough with the fan-girling (Cassey, if you ever read this THANK YOU!)

Something she mentioned in a recent video really resonated with me. In her talk about the 28-day Reset, she said “use your body as a lab” to figure out what makes you bloated, irritable, gives you acne, etc. I LOVE this idea. Everybody is different so until you actually try cutting out gluten, dairy, etc. how are you supposed to know if it really is bad for you? Maybe your body is perfectly able to process these things but if it isn’t, that could be the thing causing you acne, bloat, and more! The sooner you find out the sooner you can fix the problem.

WHO DOESN’T WANT NICER SKIN AND A FLAT TUMMY??

I missed the start of the challenge (Jan 2) but am starting Monday January 9th. So, what does the 28-day Reset entail? I will cut out gluten, dairy (which I already know makes me break out anyways), processed foods, added sugar and alcohol.

In one of my previous posts, I talked about self-care. Honestly, the best gift you can give yourself is the knowledge of what makes your body work at its best. So this 2017, I’m going to challenge myself to learn about my body and it’s limits starting with the 28-day Reset.

THIS IS NOT A DIET

I can’t stress that enough. Though weight loss may be a side-effect of eating a cleaner diet, I’m not cutting calories or working out any more than I usually do. The goal here isn’t vanity, it’s knowledge! I will be posting periodically about my results and the process. Follow along and try it yourself!

Take care!

Benefits of Healthy Eating

benefits-of-healthy-eating

Hey bombshell!

Anyone looking to lose weight already knows that clean eating is the best way to go about it. Add in a little exercise and motivation and thats a recipe for weight loss success!

But there’s more to clean eating than the fit body! This post is a reminder of all the reasons to eat clean after the holiday season.

Immune System
Why is it when you start sneezing people say “drink your orange juice?” Vitamin C, of course! No body wants to be sick so make sure you fill up on vitamin C rich foods in 2017. That includes the obvious like oranges and other fruits but did you know that bell peppers are one of the best sources of vitamin C?

Focus and Energy
Though this applies to everyone, I especially want students to listen up! Students in college and university have a hard enough time keeping up with the school work, but due to rising tuition costs, many students have to work full-time while in school to pay for various costs. And don’t forget about maintaining a healthy lifestyle during all that! This requires focus and energy. Pair a banana with a protein (my fav is egg whites) in the morning and you’ll be good to go all day long!

Healthy Skin
I’m only going to say this once: sugar = bad skin!! Now I’m not going to lie, I have a weird obsession with cinnamon rolls. I LOVE them! They always seem to sneak into my kitchen and of course they don’t last long once they’re there. I try to avoid sugary foods but hey, I’m human. If there’s one rule I live by its everything in moderation…except coffee. Berries are known to be good for skin so mix them up in a smoothie with some almond milk and a bit of protein powder and you have yourself a recipe for clear skin!

Additional benefits of healthy eating include:

  • decreased stress levels
  • improved sleep quality
  • lower risk of disease
  • and MANY more

I understand that clean eating isn’t an overnight transition. Sugar addiction is a REAL THING! I suggest starting slowly on your path to clean eating or you risk binge eating and fall-backs. Make slow changes like increasing water intake then once you’re used to that start introducing more vegetables into recipes you already make! These are just examples, of course. Do what suits you!

Well thats all for now!

Self Love

The inner part of something; the inside. "the interior has been much restored". Synonyms_ inside, inner part, inner area, depths, recesses, bowels, belly; More antonyms_ exterior, outside; an artistic representation .png

Hey Bombshell!

Let’s talk about self-love. Being a bombshell is all about confidence, right? RIGHT!

One way to achieve confidence is through happiness. I see so many women out there taking care of everyone around them and forgetting about themselves. Sound familiar? You’re probably one of those women.

Self-love can’t really be described one way. It can be a bunch of things, individual to each person. To practice self-love you might tell yourself how good of a person you are in a mirror every morning or do something you find relaxing like a trip to the spa.

Before anyone asks “isn’t taking time for myself selfish?” I will say absolutely not! Self-love is an essential part to being a calm, loving, confident bombshell of a woman! No one wants to be around a person who is constantly worried about deadlines, rushing around to get everything done.

Pause, girl. You deserve a break.

Here are some me-time ideas to get you started:

  • relaxing epsom salt bath
  • yoga
  • spa (at a day spa or in your own house)
  • listen to your favorite music
  • do something creative
  • make a list of things you’re good at
  • go on a hike
  • have a coffee (I swear it makes everything better)

That’s all for now!

Have a Lovely Day

bombshell 101

so you want to be a bombshell…

i would love to say becoming a bombshell isn’t about the body, the clothes, the hair, the makeup, the skin, the clean eating and the HARD WORK it takes to look that great all the time. but it is.

bear with me here

yes, becoming a bombshell is about all those things. i’m a firm believer that beauty is an attribute every woman is born with. we are all bombshells….on the inside. some of us are still waiting to come out and get noticed. there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look good.

ever see a girl while you’re commuting to school or work and she’s got perfect hair, straight posture, slim figure, oozing confidence, AND can stand on the train without face-planting? that girl is a BOMBSHELL!! you can be that girl. you can have it all: brains, beauty and the balls to make it all happen for yourself

bombshells are not measured by the size of their waists or money in their pockets. it is a measurement of CONFIDENCE! so yes, being a bombshell is about getting the body you want, wearing the clothes you like, using makeup to express yourself but it is NOT FOR VANITY! i cannot stress that enough. getting fit, healthy and stylish is a confidence booster and confidence is at the heart of every bombshell babe!
